Recently, a new Cinemax opens near my house and we had been watching a lot of movies. The last two were Megamind and Rapunzel.

Both Megamind and Rapunzel had been most entertaining and I love Megamind more than Rapunzel.

There are several trailers but I think I want to catch Yogi Bear because the 3D effects are awesome. There are other movies like Justin Bieber in 3D and Narnia but give me Yogi. He is so adorable.

Rapunzel - not quite the weak princess

I watched Rapunzel in 3D yesterday and I am glad they no longer put her as the weak and frail princess waiting for her prince.

Overall, it is a humourous funny movie with lots of action. What I like most is the horse Maximus. Oh I just love it's attitude!

The graphics are breath taking as well. When the butterfly flies, I could almost touch it with my hands. Of course it is just a 3D movie.

Everyone seems to buy gold bars nowadays. My friend just called me to tell me about the fantastic idea of buying gold because she said the prices are stable and escalating. So, with all the expensive properties prices plus all the risks of other investment, she said she will keep buying gold.

Many people are into buying gold and I wonder if one day we can deplete the supply of gold. What if it becomes extinct? Can such things happen?

I just looked closely at some photos of a woman. She is of course someone very famous but much hated for her perceived haughtiness. We heard she has a rule where reporters aren't suppose to take her photos under hot sun.

Well....I didn't know that and did take photos of her using my zoom lens in the hot midday sun.

I found there are parts of her face which have little groove. It is like a nip tuck gone bad. But my friends told me botox can create the same kind of problem as well.

I cannot get any work done today because of the crazy weather. While it is very sad to read about the typhoon in Phillipines and all the floods that ravage other countries, I do wish they will send some rain over here.

The night is hazy and the air smell of smoke. The haze cause the weather to be extra humid, hot and just plain sticky.

We get these hazy days when Indonesia farmers burn their plantation. For decades we cannot solve this. They are not doing anything to improve and hence we have to suffer.

I have read a few books which in turn become mega blockbuster. Sometimes the book is so much more fantastic than the movie. Sometimes, the movie is better.

For example, in Memoirs of a Geisha, I couldn't put down the book because it really tugs your heart, make you hold your breath when you are thrown in the life of this little Japanese girl. But the movie is sort of anti-climax.

Then, there is the My Sister's Keeper which are equally good in the book and the show. In fact, I love the stunning cinematography of Sister's Keeper. I cried more in the movie than the book, maybe because the whole emotions was compacted into less than 2 hours while I took a while to finish the book.

I bought the book on impulse and regret the decision because the story line sucks. It is so uninspiring. I do not know why this woman Elizabeth has so much pain in her relationship with her husband. It was so dramatic and yet, it doesn't reveal a thing.

Then, she appears like a stupid bimbo who has a lot of money. But for the sake of Julia Roberts, I will endure the movie and hope I like it.

I was at the hairdresser just now and had a chance to flip through all the women magazines. That's the nice thing about going to the hairdresser because I have time to catch up with all the magazines that I never bother to buy.

If I total up the price of the magazines I had flipped through, I think it is more expensive than my haircut.

Why do I not buy women magazines? Because they are so jammed pack with nothing but adverts and more adverts. No content, only people trying to sell you things.

A lot of senior people are not prepared to face retirement. Firstly, those who are used to be in command have problems leading laid back life whereby no one will listen to their command anymore.

Then, there are those who are so busy organising and helping others lives, they cannot get used to be 'not wanted' anymore.

Of course the most important one is where senior citizens are not prepared to retire because they still need to make money to keep them surviving. That's why it is essential to plan from young and get some money stored up. Of course money depreciates so it is not a good idea to just stash them. I went for a massage not knowing what to expect. I like the aroma-therapy massage because I thought they are going to give me some happy smoke to make me feel sleepy.

However it is not. It is a whole body massage and I must say it is rather sensous. How nice if the massage is longer. One hour is not even enough to wake up all my senses. Yet, I cannot complain because it costs just a little over USD10 for an hour.

I dreamt of Cleopatra coated in gold dust last night. I am not sure how or why. Something must have triggered off the Cleopatra syndrome in me. In my dreams it seem so real.

I love taking photos of flowers. Right now, I have hundreds of photos of different kind of flowers.

This is one of the nameless flowers I recently found. I do not know the name but it is awfully cute.

In fact it looks fake and feel like plastic. I suppose it must be a new breed because it looks like those tiny red bunch of flowers we commonly find in our garden. Yet, it has those distinct lines around the petal that make it so interesting.

This flower here is not a daisy. Many people mistakenly refer to it as a daisy but it is not. It is call the gerbera.

I love flower arrangements with gerbera because the flower looks so simple and yet so beautiful. There are no complicated petals like roses. There are not confusing colours like orchids.

It is pure simple red or pink petals with a middle which is usually black in colour. It is how we often draw flowers when we were small. Just a circle in the middle and petals all the way round.

I went to the highlands the other day. At first, I didn't notice the vines creeping above my head are growing grapes. I walked for a distance and was wondering why they are putting signs of 'Do not touch the grapes'. I thought they are trying to be funny.

It is only when my boy shouted, "Look mommy, there are grapes on your head!" that I finally noticed the grapes.

I was in my car the other day and looking down at the drain. Then, I notice how pretty the colour of the iron grill is. So, I decided to take a picture of it.

A lot of people do not believe in saving for the rainy days. I disagree. I like to feel secure having something to fall back on and like to keep my money. However, now money kept in bank is no longer worthy. We need to invest wisely and one of them is to buy gold.

I just read the news that the Sultan has divorced one of his wives. That means the poor woman no longer gets to hold her royal titles or own any of her properties.

I wonder if he gives her a handsome compensation to make up for the lost time? I suppose with her lavish lifestyle, she won't be able to find a husband rich enough to afford the kind of lifestyle she had.

Few days ago, I read that khaki is back in fashion. Men and women both look good in khaki pants.

So, I went out and bought several khaki pants because I don't have any. Now, when I look through the fashion site again, they said khaki is so yesterday. Ouch, but I have spent so much on them.

Therefore, whether they are in fashion or not, I am going to wear my khaki pants because they are so comfortable and looks more formal than my jeans.

You know what they say....diversify. If you are doing business, you got to diversify to stay in the business. If you are doing some investment, you also have to spread out your investments.

Lasik surgery is great!

Did I mention that I had lasik eye surgery? I had it done a month ago and I am so happy with it.

Now, I no longer have to worry about my contact lenses. I also do not have to be bothered with cumbersome spectacles. All I get are perfect eyesight. The best is there is no discomforts at all after a few days.

I had mine done for mono-vision. It means I can read small prints as well as see things in the distance. The procedure is call customised lasik and it is one of the best decision I made.

I am not too sure I like American Idol anymore. It is getting soo boring with the usual bunch of idiots which are idiotic enough to allow the judges to make fun of them. Then, there are the bunches of drama queens who will cry over the slightest thing.

I wonder what is going to happen to American Idol when they take away Simon Cowell. Without him, there is no more attraction to it.

I doubt it will survive much longer because year in year out, we are looking at almost the same kind of singers.

A degree in contemporary music

A friend's son is taking a degree in contemporary music in a university overseas. Meanwhile, she is so free at home and wish to take up a degree course on those university online. She told me she is bored staying at home without much to do as her husband travels a lot while her son is in overseas.

It is fine for her cos she is so rich and can afford to pay for the fees. She told me she let her son take sup contemporary music because of his interests. There are vast opportunities for this and she hopes he makes it someday as a musician. Meanwhile, I asked her what course is she thinking of pursuing. She told me she hasn't decide yet.

We do not get the show over here but my friends in the UK gushed over how great the show is. It is a little bit like American Idol except that it is a UK production. Even Simon Cowell is in there as one of the judge. Danii Mynogue who is Kylie Mynogue. The show has produced some really good singers like Leona Lewis.

The X-Factor 5 produced singer like Rhydian Roberts who just cut an album.

Michael Jackson converted to Islam

The former Jackson 5 star was counselled by David Wharnsby, a Canadian songwriter, and Phillip Bubal, a producer, who have both converted.
A source said Jackson had appeared a "bit down" and added: "They began talking to him about their beliefs, and how they thought they had become better people after they converted. Michael soon began warming to the idea.
"An imam was summoned from the mosque and Michael went through the shahada, which is the Muslim declaration of belief."

This woman, Cher seems to be ageless. When I was a kid, she was already performing. I still remember her show on TV call Sonny and Cher. If I am not mistaken, Sonny has died many years ago. Anyway, they were divorced for a long time already.

However, Cher is still going on strong on the Las Vegas Shows. Her long black hair and her face still looks the same. I wonder how much plastic surgery has she poured into her face to be the timeless beauty?

The thing is, her voice too still remain the same. So, what has she been doing to keep herself still in the entertainment industry after so many decades? There are very few women who are like Cher who seems never to grow old. They wear the same style of dresses and the same style of hair. The other example is Tina Turner. She too never gets old.

Yoga banned for Muslims?

Have you read the news that in Malaysia, a country in Asia, Muslims are not allowed to practise yoga? I didn't know that? Why? according to the news, they said that the practice of yoga can make Muslims deviate from their religion. Yoga is banned because it contains elements of Hinduism and hence, Muslims are not allow to do it.

However, the good thing is it is not a law but just a ruling. So, one cannot get into trouble with the law if they do yoga, can they?

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Malaysia's top Islamic body on Saturday banned Muslims from practicing yoga, saying the Indian physical exercise contains elements of Hinduism and could corrupt Muslims.

The National Fatwa Council, which has the authority to rule on how Muslims must conduct their faith, issued a fatwa, or edict, saying yoga involves not just physical exercise but also includes Hindu spiritual elements, chanting and worship.

Council chairman Abdul Shukor Husin told reporters that many Muslims who practice the globally popular yoga failed to understand that its ultimate aim was to be one with a god of a different religion.

"We are of the view that yoga, which originates from Hinduism, combines physical exercise, religious elements, chanting and worshipping for the purpose of achieving inner peace and ultimately to be one with god," he said.

"It is inappropriate. It can destroy the faith of a Muslim," he said.

I am going off for a long vacation. Where I am heading, there are no internet connection. I hope I can survive in the jungle. On and off, I may log on from some internet cafe but I won't be able to blog as the charges are really expensive there.

I am not sure what is wrong with MSN and MAC. All my conversations are cut off midway and the thing kept crashing. It is so frustrating because I hate being cut of in mid conversation. This is especially so when I am chatting up someone new and the conversation is getting interesting.

So, I need to force quit the application on my MAC. To force quit a not responding program, you click Alt., Command and Esc to get the applications and force quit the one you want.

Now, I have to restart my MSN while my contact thinks I have left him alone. Shit.

I have not updated this blog for a long time. I can say no news is good news because it means there are no scandals worth reporting. And when I don't write, it means I have no gossip. No gossips mean I have not cause anyone any harm.

Well, do you know that Mike Meyers, ya, that Austin Powers guy is coming up with yet another spectacular movie call The Love Guru? And it is starring Jessica Alba and Jutin Timberlake according to IMDB website.

The movie won't be released until June 2008 so there are still a few months of waiting. I love Mike Meyers movie because he is always so funny. So, I better keep myself updated with The Love Guru. According to the IMDB site, Jessica Simpson is rumoured to be in the movie too. WOW, two hot Jessicas!

And if that is not enough, Ben Kingsley is in the movie too.

The UK papers headlines are about how Prince Harry went to Afghanistan to fight the Tablibans. It was with the Queen's approval this time and according to Prince Harry, the Queen is very pro about it.

I guess these are the kind of things they groom future Kings, don't you think so? Prince Harry and Prince William are the future King of England and hence, what better thing to do now than to go to the battlefield and learn some skills?

I remember Prince Andrew too had gone to war. Hmmm...I wonder if they treat the royalties with special service when on the battlefield?

My friend told me this news earlier and I couldn't believe her because I thought Britney Spears is in some centre to deal with her mental problems. In fact, I just heard during the Oscars telecast that Britney Spears just have the chance to see her two babies after being separated for a long time. Being that screwed, and now she has gone ahead to have a baby with Adnan Ghalib? Adnan Ghalib is a Moslem and that makes Britney Spears's baby a Muslim too? How is that possible?

But it is all over the news now so I guess it must be true. Otherwise, people won't be talking about it. You would think that she would have some decency to remain stable before thinking of more responsibilities of being a mother, don't you? Being a mother is such a huge task and I hope she handles it well.

Maybe she ought to get back in shape after all these pregnancies and start singing again. Otherwise, people will think of her as a baby machine instead of a singer. I would recommend Britney Spears to get fit with some gym like what I see on this site selling medical supplies. They have so many things for pregnant moms too.

I have been digging around for news on Lydia Shum funeral. I just watched the video of her in November and tears dropped down my eyes. Lydia Shum death is getting to me in some funny way. It must be because Lydia Sum was my mom's favourite. In a way, I sort of miss my own mother.
